Oraichain is excited to announce a major revamp of the Foundation Delegation Campaign (FDC) for 2024! This program is shifting gears, moving beyond just supporting validator operations. Now, it will actively encourage participation that fuels the entire Oraichain ecosystem’s future growth.

FDC 2024: Focus on Active Contribution

Launched in 2022, the FDC has been instrumental in decentralizing the Oraichain ecosystem. Thanks to its support, the active validator set has surged by an impressive 60%! The foundation’s unwavering commitment played a key role in this success, allocating significant resources to bolster the program.

As Oraichain ventures into a new era of expansion, the FDC is adapting to meet these changing needs. In 2024, the program goes beyond simply supporting validators. Instead, it will prioritize empowering those who actively contribute to Oraichain’s growth. This active contribution can be evaluated across various factors, including:

  • Community engagement
  • Documentation improvements
  • Infrastructure development

Result list — Cycle 1

We received 33 applications for the FDC 2024 Cycle 1. While strict adherence to guidelines was initially considered, it could have resulted in undesired centralization and a small pool of active validators receiving FDC support.

Taking the current situation and valuable feedback from our validators into account, we’ve decided to select validators that prioritize broader participation. This means including more operators while strategically adjusting delegations from some existing validators.

Following a comprehensive selection process, we’ve chosen to empower a wider range of validators through FDC delegations. This reflects our confidence in their ability to actively contribute to the Oraichain ecosystem’s continued growth and prosperity. By fostering a more diverse validator landscape, we encourage active participation in strengthening the Oraichain network.

How to Apply and Stay Informed

Submission form can be found here: https://forms.gle/E7h4pB8ssBaqYM8e7

All applicants are encouraged to submit their application here for consideration. Submissions are always open to welcome new validators. Existing delegations will be reevaluated every 30 days based on the established criteria. For transparency, all monthly FDC delegations will be published publicly.

NodeOps Node-as-a-Service

NodeOps is a grant recipient from the Oraichain Foundation’s DAO Treasury, recognized for their dedication to simplifying Web3 development and node operations for new Oraichain onboarding. All about their integration roadmap and timelines can be found here: https://commonwealth.im/oraichain/discussion/14849-nodeops-introducing-simplified-infrastructure-for-node-operators-developers

Currently, they’ve successfully completed their technical setup and achieved all milestones outlined in the grant agreement.

NodeOps offers a standout feature: Node-as-a-Service (NaaS) infrastructure for Oraichain. This eliminates the complexities of setting up and maintaining a validator node, with optimized infrastructure ensuring cost-effectiveness and high efficiency. By removing technical barriers, NodeOps opens the door for a wider pool of validators to come and make contributions to strengthen Oraichain’s decentralization.

Our support for NodeOps goes beyond financial backing. By highlighting their user-friendly NaaS platform, we are happy to welcome a broader validator base, especially community members who have actively demonstrated commitment to the Oraichain ecosystem through thought leadership and content creation. With more validator choices, users can make informed delegation decisions, incentivizing the spread of delegated tokens across multiple nodes for a more robust ecosystem.

Conclusion

We remain committed to providing ongoing support, ensuring a smooth operational environment for all validators. Our goal is fostering a collaborative ecosystem where everyone thrives — Oraichain benefits from a robust validator network, while validators find a supportive platform to actively contribute.
